What does it mean?
Attention defi cit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is a condition that affects people's behaviour. People with ADHD can seem restless, may have trouble concentrating and may act on impulse.
Lots of the main symptoms of ADHD are things that impact your behaviour, mood, and thinking. So you might be misdiagnosed with a mental health problem like depression, anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder, or a personality disorder.
What do I wish people knew?
ADHD can be overwhelming, leading to me always trying to please everyone or feeling like I have nothing to contribute. I'm always trying to do more and end up spinning to many plates and doing way to much for others without thinking about myself. I have no concept of dates or days, I often fi nd myself in situations because I've misplaced something or I've got too involved, it has a nock on eff ect this has been a struggle for me since I was a child. I can be impulsive, full on or vacant.
How can I support myself?
Horses are what changed my life and building my own family which I've learned the hard way as I fi nd that I'm to trusting of anything. I need to chunk down tasks and tell people how I'm feeling when I'm struggling in my head.
How can others support me?
Giving me a full explanation of what you need from me and allow me to ask questions can help me a lot, please don't get frustrated if I repeat myself and recognize when I'm in a state of pannick or nothingness and someone checking in on me is always helpful.
