From Homelessness to Hope

OIP 3

When 20-year-old YY first came to Eat Sleep Ride, he was experiencing homelessness, living with borderline personality disorder, and facing complex mental health challenges. Isolated and reliant on disability benefits, the barriers to employment and stability seemed overwhelming.

Through tailored, hands-on support, YY gained certifications in First Aid and Child Protection, secured his PVG membership, and developed practical skills in woodwork, land management, and quad bike handling. We provided transport assistance and volunteer expenses to remove participation barriers, ensuring he could attend regularly.

With consistent mentoring, YY grew in confidence, progressed from temporary accommodation into his own tenancy, and began to see a future filled with possibility. Today, he remains connected to Eat Sleep Ride, eager to contribute to the community that helped him rebuild his life. His journey shows that with the right support, transformation is possible.
