Therapeutic Riding for Movement Regulation & Sensory Needs
At Eat Sleep Ride, our therapeutic riding sessions are designed specifically for children and young people who benefit from the rhythm, warmth, and responsive movement of a horse.
This isn't adaptive or disability riding in the traditional sense — we don't have hoists or ramps. What we offer is a carefully held sensory experience, where the natural movement of the horse supports regulation, integration, and connection.
Who this is for
Our sessions are well suited to young people with:
- Sensory processing needs
- Neurodivergent profiles (including autism, ADHD, and related conditions)
- Movement regulation challenges, including those with spina bifida
- Trauma backgrounds, anxiety, or low confidence
What supports the experience
We combine horse movement with our wider sensory environment, including:
- Fleece saddles, Indy Dinkys, coloured stirrups, and tactile sensory items
- Liberty work in the field, wheelchair-friendly walks, and flower picking
- Our sensory garden, outdoor spaces, and therapy room
- Video tours available before your visit to reduce anxiety
- Disabled parking and accessible toilet facilities
Sessions can be tailored around each young person's needs, pace, and comfort. We work closely with families to make sure the experience feels safe, predictable, and positive.
