Our total emissions for the year were 14,836 kg CO2e. The main contributors were:
-
Methane (6,794 kg CO2e) from horse digestion
-
Energy & fuel use (2,917 kg CO2e)
-
Nitrous oxide (2,857 kg CO2e) from pasture use
Although we’re not a production farm, this report gives us a clear path to reduce emissions and improve efficiency. Key actions we’re exploring:
-
Installing smart meters for better energy monitoring
-
Expanding solar power and adding battery storage to reduce diesel use
-
Increasing grassland biodiversity to lock more carbon into the soil
-
Exploring agroforestry to support local ecosystems
Our unique site—24 acres of grassland, arenas, and equine facilities—serves as a space for therapeutic and educational programs. This audit strengthens our case for accessing green funding, improving our services, and enhancing environmental awareness.
Together, we’re building a greener, more resilient future for our community and the planet.
