February Pony Days at Eat Sleep Ride

Dates: 12th, 17th & 19th February
Time: 10:30am start
Ages: 5–18
Location: Eat Sleep Ride, Scottish Borders

Our February Pony Days are designed to give children and young people a positive, confidence-building experience with horses in a calm, supportive rural setting.

We recognise that different ages need different pacing, so we run two session lengths to make sure every child gets the most from their day.

Younger Children (Ages 5–10)

10:30am – 1:30pm | £45

A shorter, gentler pony day ideal for younger children who benefit from structure, breaks and reassurance.

Activities include:

  • pony grooming and care

  • short riding sessions (led and supervised)

  • outdoor play and creative activities

  • learning how to be calm, kind and confident around horses

This session is perfect for first-time riders or children who enjoy animals but may find long days tiring.

Older Children & Young People (Ages 11–18)

10:30am – 3:30pm | £60

A longer, more immersive pony day for older children and teenagers, with more time to build skills, responsibility and confidence.

Activities include:

  • horse care and handling

  • riding sessions and groundwork

  • understanding horse behaviour and communication

  • teamwork, leadership and time outdoors

These sessions suit both beginners and those with some experience, and are particularly good for young people who enjoy learning by doing.

⭐ What parents can expect

  • small group sizes
