All welcome: there’s no limit on numbers, so bring the whole family, friends and neighbours. We’d still love a quick email if you’re coming to the storytelling, so we have enough craft materials ready.

something spooky is happening on the hill… 🎃

This Halloween we’re welcoming award-winning storyteller Franziska Droll to Quarry Farm for an afternoon of magical tales, a trick or treat trail and Halloween pony games.

Meet the storyteller
Franziska grew up in Germany’s Black Forest and has lived in Scotland for 11 years. She’s an award-winning member of the Scottish Storytelling Directory and a big horse lover. She specialises in sensory, interactive storytelling that welcomes everyone, whatever their age or background. Find out more at bordersstoryteller.com.

Free storytelling sessions
🧙‍♀️ 12:00–1:00, little ones (under 7s): Witch and horse stories, then a make-your-own-witch craft to take home.
🌊 1:15–2:00, older children (7+): Legends of the Kelpie, Scotland’s shape-shifting water horse.

Storytelling is free, but please email admin@eatsleeprides.org to tell us you’re coming. Let us know how many children and which session, so we have enough craft materials.

Trick or Treat Trail: £8 per child
Follow the clues around the farm as a family and collect treats along the way. Go at your own pace, any time between 12pm and 4pm.

[Book trail tickets on Eventbrite]

Costume parade and pony games, 3:15pm
Stay to cheer on our Halloween riders as they show off their ponies’ fancy dress and compete in Halloween pony games. Our colouring and craft table is open all afternoon too.

Good to know
Quarry Farm is a working hillside farm with uneven ground, so bring wellies and warm layers. Costumes are very welcome! We have an accessible toilet. If anyone in your group has additional needs, get in touch and we’ll help you plan your visit.

Every ticket supports Eat Sleep Ride, a charity bringing horses, nature and people together in the Scottish Borders. 🐴
